HAVING recently achieved status as an airline, Civair has introduced three flights a week between Cape Town and Oudtshoorn and Cape Town and Plettenberg Bay in the Western Cape, with a Johannesburg, Kimberley, Upington and Durban flight scheduled to start on September 1.
Civair Airlines' operations manager, Dominique van Zyl, told Travel Now that the aircraft can accommodate maximum 19 people and include a Metroliner and Pilatus-PC12.
The company started originally as a charter company but recently attained airline status. The Cape Town flights depart from Cape Town International Airport (CIA) on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Civair - owned by André Cluver - also operates Civair Helicopters which charters scenic flights around the Cape Peninsula.
Van Zyl says the Johannesburg/Kimberley/Upington/Durban flight will operate five days a week, with aircraft based at Kimberley Airport in the Northern Cape.
