New appointments

A SECOND management couple has been appointed to run Abercrombie & Kent's (A&K) Chobe Chilwero Lodge in Botswana when it opens on October 8 this year.
Brian Bester and Chantelle Smyth, previously from Matetse and River Club - also in Botswana - will assist in the running of what A&K say will be the region's "most upmarket, luxurious lodge" once it reopens after a nine-month closure.
Managing director of A&K, Brad Horn, says meanwhile that the company's mobile tented safaris are receiving a number of requests for small, private FIT safaris over three nights.
"For this purpose, we are operating our own exclusive campsite in a private safari concession on the periphery of the Moremi Reserve."
Horn says private guides can also be arranged, at an extra cost.
