New flagship spa for San Lameer

A jewel of a new spa and wellness centre has opened in Southbroom on KZN’s South Coast, in the well-known San Lameer Resort Hotel & Spa, and it’s bound to be a popular holiday treat among the well-heeled Jo’burg set all year round.

Situated on the lush banks of the Umhlangamkulu lagoon within the San Lameer eco-estate, the brand-new Lagoon Day Spa & Wellness Centre is the largest spa in operation on the KZN South Coast.

This flagship facility has eight treatment rooms, two private Jacuzzi pods, an indoor heated pool, a sauna, a hair and nail studio, a relaxation room, and a gym. The treatment rooms have been designed for either singles or couples.

An extensive spa menu has been selected by Monya Ashburner, who oversees the spa operation. Ashburner has eight years of experience in beauty and wellness management, and is assisted by a team of qualified therapists and somatologists.

Highlights include a variety of massages and facials, hydrotherapy treatments, body wraps, exfoliations, manicures and pedicures. Special wedding couple packages, mother-to-be packages and treatments for the kids are also available.

The spa is open to both day visitors and inhouse guests of the San Lameer Resort Hotel & Spa. Bookings are made through the hotel.

The hotel offers a variety of well-priced Spa-and-Stay packages, allowing guests to combine some of the Lagoon Day Spa & Wellness Centre’s signature treatments with an idyllic few days at the upscale 40-bedroom hotel.

Facilities on the estate that are available to the hotel guests include the 18-hole championship golf course, two Blue Flag beaches bordering the estate, birding and nature trails, mountain-biking routes, tennis and squash courts, action cricket nets, bowling greens, boat rides, fishing and more.  The eco-estate also hosts a myriad fauna and flora, and guests may catch sight of Crowned eagles, Blue Crane, Blue duiker and Bushbuck. There is an impressive bird watching dam.
