New ITC franchise – no GDS experience needed!

02 Nov 2023

Travel Counsellors now offers entrepreneurs without GDS experience an opportunity to start their own thriving travel businesses.

The new Leisure Travel Counsellor franchise is a chance for more travel professionals to become businessowners and enjoy the flexibility and unlimited earning potential that goes along with it.

Our custom-built technology, combined with the Leisure TC’s passion for crafting bespoke, luxury travel experiences, will ensure the success of this venture.

The creation of the franchise grew out of the demand for more wide-ranging home-working opportunities in the travel industry. The Leisure TC will rely on the unique set of skills acquired during their career at a tour operator or in other travel planning roles.

The requirements for a Leisure TC are:

-       A minimum of five years of travel sales experience

-       Experience with booking flights (no GDS experience required)

-       Worked in a customer-facing role selling holidays

-       Worked as a travel agent, an ITC or a Tour Operator

“It’s a great opportunity for consultants with tour operator knowledge to start their own ITC businesses. The support and technology at Travel Counsellors now enables them to achieve something they never thought possible. As Business Development coach I have the privilege of seeing fledgling travel shops grow into thriving enterprises, and I can’t wait to work with this new breed of TC,” says Marc de Jager, Business Development Manager for Travel Counsellors Cape Town.

The Leisure TC will undergo an intensive 10-day induction with hybrid learning delivered virtually by our experienced team and through our innovative e-learning platform, Discover. Travel Counsellors ensures that the Leisure TC has everything they need to start their entrepreneurial journey, with personalised branded stationery, marketing collateral, a laptop fully loaded with Microsoft software, and personalised leisure and corporate websites.
