THE Old is Gold Guesthouse and Conference Centre in Germiston, Gauteng has changed its name to Gildenhuys.
Owner, Simon Gardner says the new name is in keeping with the famous gold mines of the East Rand and the property forms an integral part of that history.
"We have also now started the arduous task of refurbishing the guesthouse, and hope to able to market ourselves as a boutique hotel before too long. This will ensure our guests and business partners of our commitment to service excellence through our facilities and standards," said Gardner.
The building, dating back to 1890, consists of three single rooms with toilet and shower, one double room en-suite and five double rooms with shared bathrooms. The conference facilities can accommodate up to 100 people.
