NZ returns to pre-pandemic regs

25 Oct 2022

Since Thursday (October 20), visitors to New Zealand no longer need to present a completed Traveller Declaration form, the last COVID-era entry regulation to fall.

The other remaining restrictions were removed for international arrivals in September. The government website confirms that arrivals no longer need to test for COVID-19 on arrival, prove vaccination status, or provide information for contact tracing to enter the country.

Travellers will still need to complete the Passenger Arrival Card, which is handed out on flights. The New Zealand Traveller Declaration will be reintroduced in the middle of 2023 and will replace the paper Passenger Arrival Card.

Next year, the government will receive feedback from travellers and airlines on new features and improvements to the New Zealand Traveller Declaration, as they get ready for it to be reintroduced.
