Oceania floats new value promise

When cruise clients are looking for more included value – such as unlimited WiFi; a credit towards shore excursions; a decent drinks package, including champagne, wine, beer, tea, coffee and mocktails and access to all the ship’s restaurants – there’s a new option.

It’s a value offer from Oceania Cruises that gives all those, wrapped into one fare, under the brand name simply MORE.

The simply MORE fares replace the line's previous OLife Choice programme. These inclusive fares open for bookings from July 1.

Speaking to trade media in a Zoom presentation on June 26, Nikki Upshaw, Senior VP Global Sales at Oceania Cruises, described the cruise line’s newest brand value promise, taking effect on sailings from October 1.

Oceania says these inclusions in the fare give guests the greatest value in luxury cruising, with virtually everything they desire included in their voyage fare. It includes a generous shore excursion credit – ranging from US$600 (R11 170) for a seven- to nine-day cruise, up to $1 600 (R29 700) for a 31- to 35-day cruise – to be spent on tours of their choice. The shore excursion credit is per stateroom, not per person, and is constructed according to the number of days in the cruise.

Oceania is well known for its culinary offering. Now, simply MORE means that all guests are welcome to dine, at no extra charge, in all the ship’s restaurants. And the comprehensive beverage package is available at both lunch and dinner times, featuring a wide selection of vintage champagnes, wines and beers, valued up to $2 800 (R52 000) per stateroom.

Other features of the new simply MORE inclusion package provide guests with free room service 24 hours a day, free unlimited WiFi and free fitness classes at Aquamar Spa + Vitality Centre.
