Oneworld launches AI travel agent

Oneworld alliance has unveiled an AI travel agent, designed to help passengers book Round the World tickets.

“The AI travel agent will streamline the process of booking intricate flight itineraries, addressing complex product rules and fluctuating flight availability,” said oneworld. The tool was created with AI technology powered by Google Cloud and Elemental Cognition.

The fares generated by this tool include all oneworld airlines, with multiple possible combinations. “Traditional airline booking engines struggle with these complex booking journeys, which can involve up to 16 stages,” said oneworld.

The bot can solve complex problems with mathematical precision, according to the alliance, capturing all oneworld global fare rules.

The bot demands that the traveller’s itinerary starts and finishes in the same city and is completed within 12 months of departure. The tool is limited to 16 flights and travellers must cross both the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific Ocean during the journey.

The trip must also be a continuous forward direction, either from West to East or East to West. Travellers can backtrack within one continent. The tool uses natural language processing.

The tool can be accessed here.
