Acsa has suspended two employees at Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International Airport, with immediate effect.

They are Bongiwe Pityi-Vokwana, OR Tambo gm, and Kris Reddy, assistant gm: airport operations.

A communication from Mpumi Mpofu, Acsa ceo, said the suspensions had come about as a result of investigations by company and law enforcement agencies into allegations of supply chain management irregularities and transgressions of the Public Finance Management Act 1 of 1999.

Mpumi’s notice said the suspensions would be followed by an internal disciplinary process, which would be expedited to allow the employees and the company to reach a speedy and fair conclusion on the matter.

In the interim, to allow for business continuity, Jabulani Khambule, current group executive: commercial, has been seconded to the position of gm: ORTIA; and group executive: business development, Charles Shilowa, has been appointed into a blended role and will look after both the business development and commercial divisions. Kamal Shivanand is seconded to the position of assistant gm: ORTIA.
