BON Hotels to open twelfth hotel in Nigeria
BON Hotels plans to open its twelfth hotel in Nigeria early next year. The four-star BON Hotel Apo
is currently under construction and will have 35 bedrooms. It is scheduled to open in early 2018.
The company also has two other hotels under construction in the country. Hotel Lekki on the
Lekki Peninsula,on Victoria Island, is due to open in June 2018 and will have 45 rooms catering
for the corporate and business market. BON Hotel Elvis Wuse2, a four-star, 85-room hotel in the
capital, Abuja, will cater for business travellers and will open later this year. The group is also
doubling the size of the BON Hotel Abuja to 60 bedrooms. Guy Stehlik, ceo of Bon Hotels, says
they have gone from having no presence in the area to becoming the largest operator, based on
hotels, in less than 12 months.
&Beyond revamps lodges
&BEYOND recently refurbished two of its properties, Phinda Rock Lodge in KwaZulu Natal, and
the Nxabega Okavango Delta Camp in Botswana. Phinda Rock Lodge officially reopened on
May 1 with a new, updated look, after undergoing a comprehensive refurbishment. All the guest
areas and suite interiors were completely remodelled and a new dining area was added. The
Nxabega Okavango Delta Camp was closed from January 15 until April 15 for phase two of
its refurbishment, which extended to the camp’s main guest areas. The final phase of the
refurbishment included a new entrance, safari shop, guest area, boma, bar, interactive coffee
station and pool, with the addition of salas for shade. There is also a massage sala by the pool
area, allowing guests to enjoy treatments in a private setting.
Somerset West hotel undergoes more renovations
ERINVALE Estate in the Cape Winelands, Somerset West, is undergoing further renovations to its
rooms and courtyard area. The renovations began on June 1 and will be completed by August 31.
The rooms will be cordoned off, to minimise interruption to guests.
