Ponant, in collaboration with Smithsonian Journeys, has released its 2027 programme.
A highlight is the new seven-night ‘A Solar Eclipse at Sea: Voyage Along the Iberian Peninsula’ itinerary, offering travellers the opportunity to witness the 2027 solar eclipse while sailing the Mediterranean. Two experts from the Center for Earth and Planetary Studies at Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum will be on board, providing context and insight into the eclipse through lectures and informal conversations.
Another new itinerary is the 10-night ‘Baja and the Sea of Cortez: In Search of the Great Whales’ roundtrip from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The itinerary features lectures by marine biologist and whale specialist Heidi Dewar and conservation biologist Monica Franco as the Smithsonian Journeys Experts on board. The journey will offer passengers the chance to see whales in their breeding habitats.
