Portugal has revealed it will introduce a digital nomad visa for internationals to live and work remotely from the southern European destination.
Recently, Portugal’s Cascais tourism board presented a campaign to attract large numbers of internationals, targeting those from the UK in particular, to come and live in Portugal while working remotely, Schengen Visa Info reports.
Workers need proof of employment from a company located outside Portugal and proof the applicant is a non-EU or European Economic Area resident.
However, authorities in Portugal have not yet provided detailed information, such as the launch date of the digital nomad visa, or the wage requirements.
