RC extends cruise swop offer

The Royal Caribbean Group has extended the validity of future cruise certificates issued for voyages that were originally scheduled to depart in 2020 and 2021. Many of these would have been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic and cruise ship bans.

According to Cruises International, representing RC, customers were initially given until April 30, 2022 to redeem their vouchers, on sailings departing up until September 30, 2022. However, Cruises International Marketing and Product Contractor, Henuti Purshotam said: “This has now been extended to allow guests to choose an alternative sailing on or before December 31, 2022, or a year later than the original cruise date, whichever comes first.”

“This has been positively welcomed by guests and trade partners, as it allows guests an opportunity to plan well in advance and still have the flexibility and peace of mind that they are covered within the Cruise With Confidence policy,” said Purshotam.

Until October 31, 2021, customers would be allowed to change their cruise plans up to 48 hours before sailings were due to depart. And this booking-change window might be extended, said Purshotam.

“These initiatives have all been put in place by the cruise line to protect passengers and ensure that travel partners can book with peace of mind knowing that in the event of a cancellation, they are covered.”
