Development Promotions has announced that business consultant and industry stalwart, Robyn Christie, has joined the company as its new business development director.

The appointment boosts the all-female director super-team of Jackie Adami and Jane Davidson.

Development Promotions has represented leading global travel brands in South Africa for five decades. The addition of Robyn to the team on the eve of its 50th birthday is an opportunity to “renovate” for the company’s next five decades, says Jackie.

“Appointing Robyn as our business development director is an important part of that renovation as we navigate stormy COVID waters and ensure our business is shaped to strongly support the changing needs of our industry partners. Supporting the industry has been our great success since Development Promotions was established in 1972 and it will remain our focus in future,” she says.

And now the team has identified new structures, initiatives and strategies that are aligned with this trade focus, adds Jane. “This focus, coupled with the long-standing relationship that both Jackie and I have with Robyn, which has been built on trust and our respective strengths and reputations within the industry, bodes well for Development Promotions.”

The vision for this trio of industry matriarchs will be to put creativity back into travel. To that end, Development Promotions directors will be developing a line-up of bespoke experiences for travellers, creating the right fit for travel partners.

“We recognise that one size does not fit all and that your success is our success. Off the back of a horrendous year for the industry, we want nothing more than to build on our strong relationships with our travel partners, achieve success alongside one another and nurture the market back to its former glory,” says Jane.

Robyn says joining Development Promotions in a director capacity complements her current portfolio perfectly. “I couldn’t think of anything more rewarding than being invited to join this dynamic team. I am truly excited to be part of Development Promotions’ future,” she says.

Robyn will continue to operate her ‘Robyn Christie just saying…’ brand.
