SA Express assets valued at R150k

The liquidators of defunct regional carrier SA Express have confirmed that the airline’s estate is nearing administrative finality, with its brand and intellectual property now valued at just R150 000.

Providing a status update to Parliament’s Select Committee on Public Petitions and Executive Undertakings on February 24, joint liquidator Aviwe Ndyamara said about 90% of the administration process had been completed.

“The two main issues that will ultimately finalise the liquidation of SA Express are the payment of the employees and the disposal of the intangible assets,” said Ndyamara.

The Committee noted concerns around accountability following the collapse of the state-owned carrier but stopped short of indicating any further intervention at this stage.
