Business rescue practitioners for SAA are “working closely with all affected stakeholders” as they finalise the business rescue plan.
Spokesperson for the business rescue practitioners (BRPs) – Les Matuson and Siviwe Dongwana – Louise Brugman, spoke to eTNW on the side lines of the SAA press conference yesterday (Tuesday), noting that they had received the letter from the unions.
She did not elaborate further, emphasising that the unions were part of the respective stakeholders the BRPs were negotiating with. Brugman added that the business rescue plan would be released soon.
Yesterday (Tuesday) the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa and the South African Cabin Crew Association announced that they had written to the BRPs demanding meaningful engagement during the Business Rescue Process in terms of the Companies Act.
The unions stated that the BRPs should not publish a business rescue plan until they had first disclosed all relevant documentation to allow workers to engage in meaningful consultation, pertaining to the business and affairs of SAA.
