South African Airways' domestic operations are now suspended until April 30, according to a statement from the airline.
Tlali Tlali, head of media relations at SAA, told eTNW: “We have taken steps to reach out directly to impacted customers to advise them of the operational changes in the light of the extension of the lockdown. We also decided to inform travel agents to advise customers who make bookings through them.”
Customers holding a ticket issued by South African Airways will be offered the value as a credit for future travel.
The credit can be used within the next two years, from March 25, 2020. The reissued or reroute request and all travel must be completed on/before March 25, 2022.
Assistance will be provided to all ticketed passengers holding an SAA ticket via any SAA call centre, city travel office or travel agent.
