Schengen visas cost more

From February, South Africans will have to pay €80 (R1 281), up from the previous €60 (R961), for a Schengen visa.

The increase also applies to children, who will now have to pay €40 (R640). Previously they paid €35 (R560).

Several other changes to the visa application process are expected for South African applicants, according to SAnews.

This includes a new rule that allows South Africans to submit an application up to six months in advance of their trip, instead of three as it is now.
