Amsterdam Schiphol Airport has introduced technology that allows passengers to track their luggage in real-time on screens, the airport’s website and its mobile application.
The platform tracks each passenger’s baggage – from the aircraft, on its way to the baggage basement and when it reaches the baggage carousel upon arrival at the airport.
Passengers can track their bags on 150 screens in the baggage collection halls.
The technology uses a self-learning model and 13 data sources in the airport’s operation systems, including the Dee Turnaround model, to track arriving aircraft and provide more accurate estimates of baggage wait times.
