The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has confirmed that more of the country’s ports are reopening to cruise ships and that more operators are expected to include stops in Singapore in their itineraries.
STB's Director of Cruise, Jacqueline Ng, said the tourism board was continuing discussions with cruise lines to operate sailings from Singapore, and that she looked forward to welcoming them soon, according to the Straits Times.
She added: “Prior to COVID-19, Singapore saw strong growth in cruise passengers throughout as well as the volume and size of cruise ships calling at our terminals. We expect the cruise industry in Singapore to return to pre-pandemic levels between 2023 and 2024.”
TUI Cruises is one line featuring Singapore in its upcoming itineraries, and will soon offer six 14-day round trips departing from Singapore between December 7 and March 1, 2023. Destinations include Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam and Koh Samui in Thailand.
