Six Travel Counsellors win trip to Manchester conference

15 Oct 2024

Travel Counsellors’ Ticket to Manchester competition has officially ended, with six Travel Counsellors (TCs) winning an all-expenses-paid trip to this year’s global conference in Manchester.

Chantal Smith, Helga Wenning, Melissa Ridley, Michelle Kaye, Nicci Hayden, and Petro Rossouw, after their weeks of dedication, were announced the winners.

This competition, linked to growth milestones, brought out the best in the TCs, showcasing the drive and passion they are known for.

Rossouw, who faced significant personal challenges, secured her spot in the top six because she continued to prioritise her clients. "I’m overjoyed! This trip means so much to me, and I can’t wait to reconnect with my TC family," she shared.

This achievement holds deep meaning for Ridley, who said she was "over the moon". She credits her success to the unwavering support of her fellow TCs and the team at Head Office. "I feel truly blessed to be part of this incredible Travel Counsellors family."

The competition highlighted the teamwork within its community. Hayden recalled how her colleagues stepped in during her leave. "Thanks to my TC buddies taking care of my clients, I stayed on track. I’m absolutely thrilled to be going!"

For Smith, the competition was just the motivation she needed. "Attending the global conference has always been a dream of mine. This challenge pushed me to grow my business and reach new goals."

Kaye, who earned her spot last year as a new starter, was determined to return. "I kept an eye on the leaderboard daily and worked on my business, not just in it. Hard work pays off, and I’m so proud to be going back to Manchester!"

On November 20, the six winners will jet off to Manchester for the Travel Counsellors global conference, where they will celebrate three decades of success with TCs from across the globe.

Travel Counsellors believes in creating meaningful opportunities that not only reward the hard work it takes to run a successful travel business but also to inspire TCs to grow their businesses. A competition like the Ticket to Manchester is just one of the many ways it shows its commitment to the success of its franchisees.

“Our mission is simple: to help our franchisees achieve their best. Whether it is by providing state-of-the-art technology and tools, a supportive network, or opportunities like the Ticket to Manchester competition where they will get the opportunity to network with our global community of business owners, we ensure every TC has the support and resources they need to succeed. This is what sets Travel Counsellors apart,” said Marc de Jager, Business Development Manager at Travel Counsellors Cape Town.
