Spain retracts visa application changes

TWO weeks after the Spanish
Embassy announced that VFS
Global would no longer be
processing its short-stay
visas for South Africans
(see TNW October 12), the
embassy has backtracked
on its initial decision and
decided that the visa company
will continue to indefinitely
process visas as before.
VFS Global told TNW the
visa application process
had not changed and would
remain as it had prior to the
embassy’s announcement –
short-stay visas of up to 90
days, including seamen visas
(which can be valid for a year),
would be processed through
the visa company, whereas
long-stay visas would be done
through the embassy. Fees
also remain unchanged
