Spanish deny visa delays in CPT

THE Consulate General of Spain in Cape Town denies that it is fully booked for Spanish Schengen visas until May 8.

Agents were advised earlier this month that the consulate would not be able to process any Schengen visas until that date. The trade note, issued by a Cape-based visa issuing company, alleged that the Consulate General of Spain in Cape Town had experienced “a 100% increase in the number of applications compared to last year”.

According to the consulate’s visa section, this information is “absolutely false” and that the visa section is open every day from 09h00 to 12h00. The only thing that has changed is the process that needs to be followed to obtain the visa.
