SAA has entered into an agreement with ATO to operate 10 round trip direct flights to Gan in the Maldives between November 2, 2018 and January 12, 2019.
Agents selling these packages can earn their share of a potential R6 million in agent commission, being offered for the 10 charter flights and the packages.
The flights will be operated on a wide bodied Airbus 340-300 and SAA will provide full international cabin services in both Business and Economy classes. The flights will depart OR Tambo on Saturday evenings and return on Sunday evenings.
The seven hour non-stop flights are being packaged with seven nights at three resorts in the Southern Atolls of Maldives. Packages offer flights, transfers, and seven nights’ accommodation with options of B&B, Half Board or Fully Inclusive.
Starlight Holidays have been appointed GSA for these flights offering seven night packages at the three star Equator Village Resort, starting from R 16 770; at the four star Canareef Resort, starting from R 19 900; and at the five star Shangri La Resort, starting from R 35 590.
ATO has signed a binding contract, paid deposits and lodged bank guarantees for the balance which guarantees the operation of all 10 flights, making it the most exciting NEW travel announcement in many years with huge long term benefits for the industry.
SAA in conjunction with ATO previously operated 240 round trip flight to the Maldives, moving over 60 000 South African Tourists to the Maldives.
