Star Alliance has announced plans for Thai Smile Airways to become a connecting partner in its global network.
The airline will have full commercial links with three or more member airlines but not with all 28 members of the alliance.
Thai Smile has begun implementing the necessary technology and commercial links that will allow it to begin serving Star Alliance connecting passengers in 2020.
The airline will then offer privileges including priority check-in, Thai Smile Lounge Access, and priority baggage delivery to qualifying Star Alliance Gold Status passengers travelling on connecting itineraries.
