Evi Moller
Evi was bitten by the travel bug at
a very young age when she began
travelling with her family and later
decided to pursue a career in travel.
“I have always believed in magic
and dreams. This is one of the only
professions that allows you turn
people’s dreams into reality,” she
says. She describes her perfect
holiday as drinking frappés, fishing
with the locals, exploring cafés
and riding a scooter in Greece,
or spending three weeks touring
through Italy. Evi spends a lot of her
free time doing charity work. “Life
is all about giving back, and helping
believe in magic,” she says.
Evi is the senior sales manager
of LUX* Resorts & Hotels in
Johannesburg.
Kuben Moodley
Kuben is a travel
consultant of
Thompsons Holidays
in Durban. Kuben’s
‘crazy’ OCD is what
some find most
interesting about
him, while others
think it is his ability
to find happiness in
everything he does.
As for his favourite
hobby? Drinking
wine. “If that counts
as a hobby!” Kuben
laughs. “I cannot
wait until the sun
sets so I can pop open a bottle.”
In his opinion, the perfect holiday
cannot be described. “It is a
moment in time
when everything is
just perfect. Think
lying on the beach
on a tropical island
with a cocktail in
hand, looking out
on the horizon over
the sea,” he says.
“Kuben is
extremely
knowledgeable on
every product he
sells. His turnaround
time for responding
to quotes is also
outstanding! He is just the best.”
Nali Singh of Travel Safe Travel
and Tours.
Tania Bezer
Tania is the business management
developer of The Holiday Factory in
Cape Town. She studied business
management at Cape Technikon
and then went travelling through
Europe. Upon her return, she
got her first job at RCI. She then
worked at Cruises International,
Impact Incentives and World
Leisure Holidays before moving to
The Holiday Factory. “I get to wake
up each day and do what I love –
what more could I ask for?” Tanya
is an avid foodie and loves a glass
of chilled crisp sauvignon blanc at
the end of a long day. While she
did not study travel – her sister did
– Tania is the one who has been
working in the industry for the past
23 years.
“Tania is always cheerful, positive
and keen to help make a sale.
She goes beyond the call of duty
promoting her products and
ensuring a booking is made and
sealed, does regular training and
webinars to make sure we are up
to date on her products and carries
her company with great pride.”
Lucinda Tyler of Club Travel.
Shaun Redelinghuys
Shaun started working in the
travel industry in 2010 as
a driver for a visa company
and worked his way up. He
is now the owner of Visas
and Passports Online in
Johannesburg. According to
Shaun, the most rewarding
part of owning his own visa
assistance company is being
able to plan and see rewarding
holidays unfold. Shaun is a big
sports fan and loves spending
time outdoors. His idea of
relaxing is going camping for the
weekend. Of course, there has
to be fishing involved – one of
his all-time favourite hobbies.
“Shaun really goes the extra
mile when assisting my clients
with their visas. Sometimes, he
starts work at 03h00 in the
morning! I know this because I
have seen his emails at this time
of the morning.”
Noorie Thomas of Club Corporate
Travel Ontdekkers.
Shelley Daniels
Shelley is a sales executive at
Beachcomber Tours in Cape Town.
In her down time, Shelley enjoys
art, hot yoga and wine tasting.
She began her career in travel
as a consultant, arranging highend
incentive group travel for the
European market. “In this role, I
learned a lot in a very short space
of time. It was a very exciting
introduction to our industry”
she says. Shelley is a big fan of
the island life. She loves island
holidays, especially ones that
combine cultural experiences,
adventure activities, rustic beach
bars and lots of ocean therapy.
“I am off to Sri Lanka soon, which
I believe encompasses my idea of
a perfect island holiday, which I am
very excited about!” she says.
“Shelley’s knowledge of her
products paired with her friendly
personality is beyond reproach. She
is a phenomenal representative who
always surpasses expectations.”
Dawn Heldsinger of eTravel.
Kim Mumbeck
Kim is a travel adviser of
Thompsons Holidays in Cape
Town. She discovered her
passion for travel at a very young
age.
“I grew up seeing all these
amazing and interesting places
on TV that I really wanted to go
see for myself,” she says. Kim
also wanted to help send other
people to these wonderful places
around the world, so she did a
travel course after school and
started her career in travel in
1997. Her first job in the industry
was as a small inbound tour
operator selling Southern Africa
to the American market. Her
idea of the perfect getaway is
escaping to somewhere cold with
her friends and family. “Some
good wine, too won’t hurt!” she
says.
“Kim always gets the best
offers and her travel knowledge
is awesome. Her service levels
are above anyone that I
have ever dealt with.”
Natalie Paulse of Sure Travelways.

Chris Van Staden
Chris is the owner of Azure
Travel in Johannesburg. From as
far back as he can remember,
he wanted to be involved
in the travel world, so after
school he did a travel course.
Chris has only worked for one
company in the industry. In
1998 he started as a travel
consultant at 747 Travel, called
Azure Travel today, and last
year he bought the company.
While Chris has travelled
extensively, Greece remains
his top holiday destination. “It
offers a great mix of culture,
good food, amazing people
and spectacular scenery,” he
says. And the most admirable
thing about Chris? The way he
manages to balance his work
and personal life.
“There is no job too big or
small for Chris. He can always
assist and bookings always go
as planned.”
Le-Ann Smalberger of XL Flight
Specials.
Debbie Palm
A pamphlet handed
to Debbie by chance
at a traffic light led to
her career in the travel
industry. After taking a
gap year, when Debbie
was handed a Varsity
College pamphlet
and saw their twoyear
Tourism Diploma
offering she thought
she should give it a
go. After completing
the course, she went
to the US to work at a
country club and then
moved back home and
started working for
Travel Vision. Debbie is
a sales consultant of
The Holiday Factory in
Johannesburg. In her
spare time, she loves
cooking and, of course,
eating, and doing
all sorts of arts and
crafts.
“Debbie is hands
down the most efficient
and well-priced tour
operator out there.”
Brenda Bishop of
Debbie Palm African Fusion Travel.
Natalie Christodoulou
After finishing a
journalism degree at
Tuks in 2007, Natalie
bought a one-way ticket
to London and did
entry-level jobs until
she eventually bagged
a job to lead trips in
Europe. She did this
for seven years. Her
favourite things are
eating and drinking
her way through Cape
Town, tanning on the
beach and collecting
Havaianas. Interesting
fact? Natalie had
a chest of drawers specifically
made with a drawer dedicated to
her Havaiana collection. She loves
exploring countries that she has
never been to and
doesn’t like staying
in the same place for
longer than two days.
The only continent
she still hasn’t
visited is Antarctica.
Natalie is the coastal
sales manager of
Topdeck Travel in
Cape Town.
“Natalie’s energy
and passion for
travel is infectious.
She works around
the clock for her
clients and makes booking Topdeck
Travel such a pleasure.” Janice-Lynn
Temmers of Flight Centre Travel
Group.
