Sun City’s Cabanas operating normally

The Cabanas at Sun City are fully operational again, following the fire that broke out in the hotel’s kitchens a week ago.

While some repairs are still underway in the reception area, there was no material loss. By Tuesday, September 19, three days after the fire, the hotel’s check-in function was operating normally.

The Cabanas has set up a temporary reception area while repairs are underway, so guests will not be inconvenienced.

Sun City GM, Brett Hoppe, said: “Our maintenance team has been working around the clock and by mid-October all signs of the fire should be gone. We are extremely grateful that the fire looked worse than it was and that there were no injuries. This is all thanks to the quick action of our fire and rescue services who contained the fire to a small section of the kitchen and reception area.”
