Asata has confirmed that the sunsetting of monthly remittance has been deferred until April 30, 2020.
Iata agreed to the deferment at its Passenger Agency Conference (PAconf) last week to extend monthly remittance for both BSPs ZA and BW.
Ceo of Asata, Otto de Vries, says: “Our role as Asata is to lobby on behalf of our members for this to be a reality. The decision by Iata to delay the sunsetting of monthly remittance allows us to prepare our businesses properly for the roll-out come May 2020”.
However, Asata notes that this is not an outright dismissal of the new remittance requirements.
