TAAG Angola Airlines and Brazilian low-cost carrier, GOL, have signed a codeshare agreement strengthening the connectivity between Angola and Brazil.
According to airspace-africa.com, TAAG passengers crossing the Atlantic to South America will have access to 13 Brazilian domestic destinations operated by GOL, including Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, and Porto Alegre.
TAAG currently operates five weekly flights between Luanda and Sao Paulo
Similarly, GOL passengers will have access to TAAG’s destinations in Europe and Africa, including Johannesburg, Cape Town, Windhoek, Maputo, Lisbon and Madrid.
GOL VP Revenue Eduardo Bernardes said: “Building this alliance with TAAG is the best way to expand our destinations to dozens of African cities. We are now able to connect our domestic bases, and, from Guarulhos, São Paulo, connect with Luanda, Angola, a country with so many similarities with Brazil.”
TAAG CEO Eduardo Fairen said: “We are enthusiastic about this major connection that bridges Latin America, Africa, and Europe via Brazil (São Paulo) and Angola (Luanda) (in a) transatlantic link.”
