TAAG pax can bid for upgrades

TAAG Angola Airlines has announced its new Plusgrade online auction tool that allows its customers to place a bid for seat upgrades.

According to Simple Flying, bids can be placed up to 24 hours prior to departure to upgrade economy seats to business class or business seats to first class. If the bid is successful, benefits of the new service class, such as increased baggage allowances, complimentary lounge access, and priority boarding, will be included.

During the bid, travellers need to name the price they are prepared to pay for the upgrade and a silent auction decides the rest, reports traveldailynews.com. Should the bid be successful, the bid amount is charged to their credit card and confirmation will be received a day or two before departure.

Upgrades are only available on selected routes. Travellers can visit the TAAG website to check if their flight is eligible and make an offer to move to a higher cabin class on eligible flights.
