TAP Air Portugal has introduced a new app, in connection with SeatBoost, that will allow passengers to auction and bid for a business-class upgrade.
After logging in to the TAP App and selecting their flight passengers can check if there is an auction available for their flight. They then select the ‘bid for an upgrade’ option, which will redirect them to the SeatBoost app.
They then select the flight and place their bid using a credit card. A minimum bid amount is shown.
The top 10 bidders then place a final bid and the winner receives a message and a business-class boarding pass. Passengers who do not win the auction keep their original ticket.
Payments must be made in EUR for airports in Europe and Morocco. For the rest of the world, payments must be made in USD.
The upgrade is subject to seat availability and applies only for each leg of the flight. Not all routes are eligible for SeatBoost auctions.
