Following the announcement of plans to introduce a new digital visa-on-arrival system at Cairo International Airport (CAI), Egypt's Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has announced details of the pilot phase.
The pilot will begin on August 1 at CAI. Visitors will be able to use digital visa QR codes instead of traditional paper visa stickers, allowing for faster processing on arrival.
Travellers will pay US$36 (R600) for the digital visa.
After the pilot phase is complete, the government plans to roll out the system in phases at airports across the country.
