TC is looking for business development travel counsellors!

04 Jul 2023
Kieran Hartwell, Travel Counsellors Global Corporate Managing Director

Travel Counsellors SA is offering experienced sales and business development managers a special franchise opportunity to take their career in a new direction as self-employed Business Development Travel Counsellors.

These BDTCs will specialise in client acquisition in the corporate travel sector, using their experience in sales and key account management to identify new business opportunities, grow a robust client portfolio and place new corporate clients with experienced Corporate Travel Counsellors, who will provide a concierge business travel service.

The creation of the BDTC role has become necessary due to strong growth in the demand for the high-end, trusted, and personalised travel service Travel Counsellors are known for.  BDTCs will develop their client base with the same drive for excellence and commitment to customer service.

BDTC requirements:

•  A minimum of three years’ experience in sales or account management in the travel industry, working in a customer-facing role

•  Good knowledge of customer relationship management systems

•  Excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills

•   Dynamic, self-motivated, and confident

•   Able to work at high speed and under pressure

BDTCs will enjoy the same outstanding backing that all Travel Counsellors receive, with an intensive induction followed by ongoing support, training, and skills development.

Kieran Hartwell, Global Corporate Managing Director Travel Counsellors, says: "The concept of Travel Counsellor business owners working in duos, trios or teams is not new to us, especially within our corporate travel division, however, we’ve formalised the opportunity and extended this further by enabling a new franchise position focused on sales and business development. There is a wealth of talent in the corporate travel industry who are experts at sourcing solutions to clients’ problems and creating seamless booking and travel experiences, acting as an extension of in-house teams. We want to harness this talent by keeping people in the industry who can be there for their clients and support businesses to get moving again.”
