Orient Silk Road Express explores China’s iconic destinations

From December 18, the Orient Silk Road Express will embark on a four-month Train Cruise of China itinerary that will offer tours of iconic attractions across the country.

The journeys include stops at destinations such as Xi’an, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Huangshan, Wuyishan, Kunming, Chongzuo, Xingyi, and Chengdu.

The Train Cruise of China offers two experiences: a two-day, one-night micro-vacation and, a four-day, three-night short-haul series.

During their stay, travellers can indulge in special onboard activities including afternoon tea, cabaret shows, cocktail parties, jewellery sessions, art lectures, gourmet tastings, and spa experiences.

The short-haul series offers tours, including the Tour of Double Cultural Heritages in East China, a return trip from Shanghai to Wuyishan and Huangshan, and the Tour of Scenic Spots in Guizhou and Guangxi, which connects Shenzhen or Guangzhou to Chongzuo, Xingyi, and Kunming.

Bulgaria launches Christmas train experience

BDZ, Bulgarian State Railways, has organised a festive train trip for the upcoming Christmas and New Year holidays. On December 21, a steam locomotive will travel from Gorna Oryahovitsa to Pleven and Gorna Oryakhovitsa.

It will consist of six thematically decorated wagons, five of which will be for passengers and one retro wagon from the government Vitosha Express train for meet-and-greets with Santa Claus and Snow White.

During the Christmas train’s stay in Pleven, visitors will have time to see the vintage steam train and take photos with Santa Claus and Snow White and visit the Christmas Train town and bazaar on Vazrajdane Central Square. The local authority has also prepared a special festive programme for visitors to the city.
