Renfe announces Seville-Barcelona train

Spanish rail operator, Renfe, has announced a direct Seville-Barcelona service, offering travellers a new high-speed option without having to transfer and change trains in Madrid.

The service will be available from April 23.

It will depart Seville and stop in Madrid. Other intermediate stops include Cordoba, Puertollano, Ciudad Real, Zaragoza, Lleida, Tarragona before arriving in Barcelona.

Italy launches La Dolce Vita Orient Express

La Dolce Vita Orient Express, the first Italian made luxury train, made its debut on April 4 with its ‘Tastes of Tuscan Vineyards’ itinerary, taking guests to Montalcino.

The collaboration between Arsenale and Orient Express offers eight curated itineraries blending art, landscapes, and three-star Michelin cuisine, across 14 Italian regions, including Venice, Portofino, Siena, Matera, Montalcino and Nizza Monferrato.

The train has 31 cabins, 18 suites, 12 deluxe cabins and the signature La Dolce Vita Suite.

Canyon Spirit expands scenic train

Luxury train, Canyon Spirit, has expanded its Rockies to the Red Rocks route to include Salt Lake City in 2026.

This new train route will connect Denver, Colorado, with Salt Lake City, Utah, over three travel days, with overnight stops in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, and Moab, Utah. The Salt Lake City route will operate in addition to the existing two-day route, between Denver and Moab.

The service, under the Rocky Mountaineer brand, will begin on April 21, 2026, and will travel weekly with one westbound departure from Denver and one eastbound departure from Salt Lake City.
