Vietnam to build Phu Quoc Airport light rail

The island of Phu Quoc in Vietnam is expected to build its first light rail line, linking Phu Quoc International Airport to the island’s tourist and business districts.

Construction of the nearly 18km line is expected to begin by the end of this year and be completed by 2027. In its first phase, the metro line will connect Phu Quoc International Airport to the APEC Conference Center.

The project will feature six stations and a maintenance facility. Trains will have three to five carriages, capable of carrying around 180 passengers, according to VN Express.
