Adriatic Express returns with Slovenia extension

The Adriatic Express will return for the 2026 summer season, linking Poland and the Czech Republic with Croatia, while adding a new extension to Slovenia.

Czech Railways, in cooperation with the Polish operator PKP Intercity, will operate the route six times per week between June 26 and August 31.

The train will depart from Poland and travel through the Czech Republic. In Ljubljana, Slovenia, the train will split into two sections, with one coach travelling to Koper in Slovenia and the rest continuing towards Rijeka on Croatia’s Kvarner coast.

The service will include overnight accommodation, with one couchette coach to and from Rijeka, two second-class coaches to Rijeka and one second-class coach to Koper.

Leo Express to launch longest European route

Prague-based private international train and bus operator Leo Express is launching its inter-European rail connection on June 25.

The route, which begins in the Polish city of Przemyśl, on the border of Ukraine, and ends at Frankfurt Airport, is set to span more than 1 300 kilometres, making it one of the longest direct train services in Europe.

The westbound route will depart from Przemyśl at 13h31 and arrive at Frankfurt Airport the following day at 07h53. The eastbound return service departs from Frankfurt Airport at 08h26, arriving in Przemyśl at 02h23 the next day.
