TripAdvisor tests AI-based experiences

01 Aug 2023
Comments | 0

TripAdvisor has announced the beta (second round) testing of its OpenAI-based trip-planning feature, with the focus on experiences and dining reservations. The feature is currently available in the United States.

Although TripAdvisor usually only acts as an advertising platform, it is now providing records of retailers in the travel industry.

According to skift.com, the trip planner uses booking lines from TripAdvisor’s Viator brand for travel experiences and attractions, and restaurant booking platform TheFork for dining reservations. The planner does not include hotel or flight ticket bookings yet.

TripAdvisor aims to make more features available in additional markets and on its app as testing continues.
