Tropical Storm Barbara, which is forecast to make landfall on Mexico’s coast this evening, is not expected to affect SAA flights from South Africa to North America, the airline has said.
This comes after storm warnings were issued by the US National Hurricane Centre on Wednesday, with Tropical Storm Barbara expected to reach hurricane strength before reaching Mexico’s southern coast.
“Tropical Storm Barbara is not expected to impact SAA’s Northern American gateway cities of New York or Washington DC,” says SAA’s gm of operations, Zuks Ramasia. “In the event that SAA’s customers are travelling to Mexico, they are encouraged to call SAA for flight updates.”
