SANParks has announced that construction is under way at Highland Mountain Retreat in the Golden Gate Highlands National Park in the Free State. The property is undergoing a nine-month renovation.
According to SANParks, the renovation project began on January 30 and will be completed by October 30. The property comprises eight self-catering log cabins, and the upgrade will focus on the retreat’s facilities.
While the retreat will remain open for bookings and be operational during the next nine months, SANParks has advised that construction activities will be ongoing.
