uShaka Marine World has welcomed the settlement of its wage dispute with the South African Municipal Workers Union – the union representing the bargaining unit employees. The strike officially ended on Friday, March 15.

Following the end of strike, the employees returned to work and the venue reopened to guests on Saturday, March 16.

  • Village Walk Mall, Dangerous Creatures, Sea Animal Encounter Island, and Sea World all opened on Saturday, March 16.

  • Cargo Hold Restaurant and Wahooz Restaurant both opened yesterday, March 18.

  • Kids’ World and Wet ‘n’ Wild will open tomorrow (March 20).

“We wish to apologise for any inconvenience the closure of the park may have caused, and we thank all stakeholders for the patience and support shown to the organisation during this period,” Durban Tourism said in a press release.
