Authorities in Venice have announced a tax of €3-€10 (R49-R164) a day for day trips from July 1, 2020.
Visitors staying overnight are already paying a tax included in accommodation charges.
Visitors coming to Venice for work, study or family reasons will be eligible for exemption.
