Virgin orders fourth cruise ship

Virgin Voyages has signed a contract with shipbuilders Fincantieri for a fourth cruise ship, to cost €700m (R11,2bn) and scheduled for delivery in 2023.

It will weigh 110 000 gross tons, and be 278 metres long and 38 metres wide and have more than 1 400 guest cabins designed to host more than 2 770 passengers, as well as 1 100 crew members.

Virgin’s three other ships are planned for delivery in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
