All applicants applying for a Schengen Visa to Spain, Baleares and Canary Islands need to submit their applications personally.
Appointments need to be made when applying for this visa as applicants need to introduce their fingerprints in the system. Once the applicant has introduced the fingerprints in the system, they will not need to be present in subsequent applications. Children under 12 years old are exempt from this.
Schengen short stay visas for tourism and business travel to Spain, Baleares and Canary Islands need to be applied for at the Visa Application Centre in Durban, Cape Town or Pretoria.
Long term, immigration and residence visas must be submitted at the Embassy in Pretoria.
