Virgin Atlantic fans will be pleased to hear that the carrier has reopened its Clubhouse lounge at OR Tambo International.
This is for the use of Upper Class (business class) customers and Flying Club Gold (loyalty programme) members.
Guests can enjoy a complimentary à la carte menu featuring dining with local flair, plus a wide selection of cocktails, wine and soft drinks.
Breakfast favourites include Eggs Benedict, Shakshuka and a variety of delectable pastries. For those visiting later in the day, ostrich fillet and fish and chips are on offer.
The airline says enhanced measures have been put in place to ensure the health and safety of customers. Travellers will be encouraged to remain in their seated areas and enjoy table service from the Clubhouse team.
The airline has also announced a new partnership with Plaza Premium Group, which will now be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Johannesburg Clubhouse under the guidance of the Virgin Atlantic team. The Clubhouses in Boston, San Francisco, and Washington will also be run by Plaza Premium Group once they reopen, as travel restrictions around the world start to relax.
Liezl Gericke, Head of Middle East, Africa and South Asia welcomed the reopening of the lounge. “We’re delighted to welcome customers back to our Clubhouse at Johannesburg’s OR Tambo, offering the signature Virgin Atlantic experience we know they have missed over the past 18 months.”
