Asata and BidTravel have triumphed! Asata CEO, Otto de Vries, describes the recent Supreme Court ruling in Rennies’ legal case against SARS, and what it means for the industry.
Asata invested a significant amount of time and resources over six years to try and resolve the VAT issue, and assisted that agency when it went to court over SARS seeking to apply VAT to upfront and supplementary commission for the arranging of international air travel. (See here).
“Those agencies that made payment to SARS have a right or should at least be attempting to try and claim those monies back,” said De Vries.
