The Wild Coast Sun resort has launched the Molo Lounge – a new 90-seater entertainment venue blending traditional and modern design elements. Open on Friday and Saturday evenings, and during holiday periods, the lounge offers a mix of live music and vibrant nightlife aiming to attract locals and tourists.

Named after the Xhosa greeting “Molo” meaning “Hello” or “Welcome”, the venue reflects the cultural heritage of the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal regions. Corrugated roof sheeting, symbolising the resilience of the local community, is paired with contemporary LED lighting, creating an atmosphere suitable for various music genres including amapiano, jazz and dance music.

Visuals of African women carrying water and a symbolic dove celebrating South Africa’s 1994 democratic transition enhance the venue’s cultural significance.

Diverse entertainment offerings

The Molo Lounge transforms into a lively nightclub on weekends with DJ performances while Sundays feature live jazz sessions for a more relaxed experience. The venue is also suitable for intimate gatherings and larger social events.

Recognition for Wild Coast Sun

Introduction of the lounge coincides with the Wild Coast Sun receiving a four-star grading from the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa for its hotel and conference facilities.

“Molo Lounge is a tribute to the cultural heritage of the Eastern Cape with a modern and stylish design,” said Henry Boekhouer, General Manager of Wild Coast Sun.
