Windstar Cruises’ newest all-suite yacht, Star Explorer, will make its debut in the Mediterranean with winter sailings from December 28.

Star Explorer’s inaugural season features longer stays and local festivals. Guests can enjoy overnight stays in Florence, Barcelona, and Nice, as well as less-travelled ports like Genoa, Catania, and Malaga.

The 224-guest ship is the latest addition to Windstar's Star Class fleet and offers immersive cultural experiences, off-season perks, and hidden harbours without the summer crowds. Nearly every suite includes a private veranda or floor-to-ceiling infinity windows. Windstar favourites such as the Yacht Club Café and the Marina deck are also available.

Itineraries on the new ship include:

  • Southern Spain Winter Escapes (nine nights) – The inaugural sailing explores architecture in Barcelona and traditional dishes Malaga. Guests can also view North Africa from the rock of Gibraltar.
  • Europe's Winter Riviera (seven nights) – Overnight stays in Florence and Barcelona. Guests can enjoy Renaissance masterpieces in Tuscany, discover Genoa's golden-age and Barcelona's Gothic Quarter.
  • Winter Italy & the Dalmatian Coast (eight nights) – Visit iconic sites, including Michelangelo's frescoes, Venice's canals, and the ancient ruins of Pompeii. Guests can learn to make pizza in Sicily and watch the winter lights in Dubrovnik.
