Abu Dhabi will be the site of the world's second Sphere venue.

This state-of-the-art entertainment facility aims to elevate the city's cultural and tourism offerings, providing visitors with a unique entertainment experience.

The first Sphere venue opened in Las Vegas in September 2023, gaining international acclaim. The Abu Dhabi venue, expected to match the 20 000-capacity Las Vegas model, will feature Sphere's signature blend of cutting-edge technology and immersive content.

An expected timeline for the new Sphere's opening has not been released.

James Dolan, Executive Chairman and CEO of Sphere Entertainment, said: "The vision for Sphere has always been a global network, and this partnership with DCT Abu Dhabi (Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism) is a major step toward that goal."

The existing Las Vegas Sphere opened in 2023 and is considered the city’s most expensive entertainment venue. It’s believed to be the world’s largest spherical structure at 111m tall and 157m wide. A high-resolution LED screen wraps halfway around the 17 500-seat audience.
