The Namibian government plans to revive Air Namibia through a public-private partnership (PPP).

According to a statement by the Namibian Presidency on Facebook, a structured implementation plan has been outlined with key milestones:

  • A market study is set for completion by June 2025.
  • The expression of interest for a PPP will be finalised by August 2025.
  • Negotiations are expected to conclude by December 2025.
  • The official relaunch of the airline is projected between June and December 2026.

The government emphasised that concerns about the airline’s viability are premature as the revival strategy focuses on sustainability and sound business principles.

Air Namibia ceased operating in 2021 due to financial difficulties but it could boost Namibia’s connectivity and tourism industry.
